Gla’s Treats began in a sunlit kitchen in Africa, where Gla— a kind, determined Black woman with a dream—turned family recipes into thoughtful gifts. From that first wooden table she perfected flavors and gestures that carry memory: sweet pastries, spiced nuts, and baskets arranged like small homes sent across distances
Relocation and Expansion into the USA
Gla carried her recipes, values, and the warmth of her African kitchen with her when she relocated to the United States. What began as a handful of care packages to friends and family became a growing demand for the same thoughtful treats and culturally familiar flavors she’d always made. She answered that call by bringing Gla’s Treats to new neighborhoods, adapting to local ingredients while preserving the tastes and rituals her customers loved.
